Email Marketing - Aim For The T-A-R-G-E-T

Email marketing is still hands-down the most effective
way to build a successful online business for the
long-term. Yes, even with SPAM blockers, competition,
and overwhelmed readers... email marketing is still king.
If it's done right.
Unfortunately, many people just don't know where to
start. I'm going to avoid the obvious and assume you
already know SPAM is stupid. So I won't waste the
word-count.
Instead, I want to give you a simple, proven email
marketing blueprint that works every time. And to
help burn it on your brain, I'll summarize the steps
using the acronym T-A-R-G-E-T. (As a side note:
You'll be using an autoresponder service such as
GetResponse or Aweber).
Ready? Let's go...
T -- Target Your Market
This should go without saying. But it's amazing how
many people take a shotgun approach to list building
and email marketing. Unless folks are already interested
in your topic, they simply won't voluntarily sign up.
(Enter SPAM on stage right).
You'll take a quantum leap forward if you'll pause to
consider who'll most be interested in your topic and
then invite them to sign up. How? Well, there are lots
of ways (Adwords, article marketing, search engine
optimization, and on and on). Point is, focus on a
tight niche and design your campaign to appeal to
them alone.
A -- Ask Permission
Once you've attracted the right people to your sign-up
page (or opt-in page), it's important that you make it
clear exactly what they should expect. Have a privacy
policy stating their information is confidential.
Also let them know you'll be emailing them routinely with
valuable information. It's also wise to ask them to add
you to their whitelist (approved emails for SPAM control
purposes.) Communicating expectations and respecting
their information will encourage a lot more sign-ups.
R -- Roll Out A Sequence
Load your autoresponder with pre-written emails that your
list will receive over a pre-determined time. Something
like "10 Strategies..." or "6 Tips to..." will keep them
interested and you focused. Generally about 7 messages
delivered every 3 days does the trick.
G -- Grab Them With A Story
Get them to open your emails with a teaser headline
offering a big benefit. Once they open it up, you need
to grab their attention fast. The best way is with a
story. Make it interesting, relevant, and conversational.
Oh, and keep it brief. Also, make it easy to read by
keeping paragraphs and sentences short and spaced out.
Tip: Sign-up to several Internet marketer's newsletters
and watch how they weave stories.
E -- Excite Their Interest
Lead from your story to the big benefit you promised in
the headline. This needs to be something your target
market really wants. Make it clear, helpful, genuine
content. This will do more to build trust between you
and the list than anything else.
T -- Tell Them What To Do Next
This is your call to action. Depending on where you
are in the series, this may be as simple as telling
them to keep their eyes peeled for the next issue. But
at some point you'll be sending them to another site
to make a buying decision. Usually this is in the last
or next to last email. The point is, give them direction
and they'll follow it.

Timing Your Email To Maximize Profits

One of the most profitable things you can do (and one
of the most difficult things to learn when you first
start your Internet business) is using an email campaign
to make money. Of course, if you are building a list,
you are probably using an autoresponder. If not, you
need to get one as soon as possible. A good autoresponder
is an essential component to making money using email.
Your list is one of the most valuable assets of your
online business. On average, you can expect to earn
about one dollar every month for each subscriber that
you have on your list. No, you didn't mis-read that, it
said Every Month! If you have a list of 2000 subscribers,
you should earn roughly $24,000 per year.
Hearing this information, don't go out and buy a list of
subscribers to try to immediately build up your list. The
best list is made up of targeted subscribers. That is,
they are interested in products related to your niche.
When you buy subscribers, most of them will NOT be
targeted to your niche. For this reason, few of them
will be interested in the products that you are
recommending and many of them will quickly unsubscribe
from your list.
You are much better off developing your list the old
fashioned way, by earning them. Develop a good squeeze
page and offer a great incentive. Use a diversified mix
of marketing campaigns and drive people to your squeeze
page. A good offer can convert between 30% and 50% of
your visitors into subscribers. If your conversions are
significantly less than this, examine your squeeze page
and offer. Make some changes to make it a more compelling
offer.
When creating an email campaign, give some thought to the
timing of your offer. Emails that are sent out late Monday
through Thursday get a better response than those sent out
on Friday or over the weekend. It seems that many people
are checking their email at work. Monday seems to be a bad
day because email boxes fill up over the weekend and
causes an overflow on Monday. So, to maximize your email
success, send them out sometime between late Monday
afternoon and Thursday. BY focusing on the timing of your
emails, you can become a much more successful email
marketer.

Email Marketing - Aim For The T-A-R-G-E-T
By Christopher Custer
Email marketing is still hands-down the most effective
way to build a successful online business for the
long-term. Yes, even with SPAM blockers, competition,
and overwhelmed readers... email marketing is still king.
If it's done right.
Unfortunately, many people just don't know where to
start. I'm going to avoid the obvious and assume you
already know SPAM is stupid. So I won't waste the
word-count.
Instead, I want to give you a simple, proven email
marketing blueprint that works every time. And to
help burn it on your brain, I'll summarize the steps
using the acronym T-A-R-G-E-T. (As a side note:
You'll be using an autoresponder service such as
GetResponse or Aweber).
Ready? Let's go...
T -- Target Your Market
This should go without saying. But it's amazing how
many people take a shotgun approach to list building
and email marketing. Unless folks are already interested
in your topic, they simply won't voluntarily sign up.
(Enter SPAM on stage right).
You'll take a quantum leap forward if you'll pause to
consider who'll most be interested in your topic and
then invite them to sign up. How? Well, there are lots
of ways (Adwords, article marketing, search engine
optimization, and on and on). Point is, focus on a
tight niche and design your campaign to appeal to
them alone.
A -- Ask Permission
Once you've attracted the right people to your sign-up
page (or opt-in page), it's important that you make it
clear exactly what they should expect. Have a privacy
policy stating their information is confidential.
Also let them know you'll be emailing them routinely with
valuable information. It's also wise to ask them to add
you to their whitelist (approved emails for SPAM control
purposes.) Communicating expectations and respecting
their information will encourage a lot more sign-ups.
R -- Roll Out A Sequence
Load your autoresponder with pre-written emails that your
list will receive over a pre-determined time. Something
like "10 Strategies..." or "6 Tips to..." will keep them
interested and you focused. Generally about 7 messages
delivered every 3 days does the trick.
G -- Grab Them With A Story
Get them to open your emails with a teaser headline
offering a big benefit. Once they open it up, you need
to grab their attention fast. The best way is with a
story. Make it interesting, relevant, and conversational.
Oh, and keep it brief. Also, make it easy to read by
keeping paragraphs and sentences short and spaced out.
Tip: Sign-up to several Internet marketer's newsletters
and watch how they weave stories.
E -- Excite Their Interest
Lead from your story to the big benefit you promised in
the headline. This needs to be something your target
market really wants. Make it clear, helpful, genuine
content. This will do more to build trust between you
and the list than anything else.
T -- Tell Them What To Do Next
This is your call to action. Depending on where you
are in the series, this may be as simple as telling
them to keep their eyes peeled for the next issue. But
at some point you'll be sending them to another site
to make a buying decision. Usually this is in the last
or next to last email. The point is, give them direction
and they'll follow it.

Timing Your Email To Maximize Profits

One of the most profitable things you can do (and one
of the most difficult things to learn when you first
start your Internet business) is using an email campaign
to make money. Of course, if you are building a list,
you are probably using an autoresponder. If not, you
need to get one as soon as possible. A good autoresponder
is an essential component to making money using email.
Your list is one of the most valuable assets of your
online business. On average, you can expect to earn
about one dollar every month for each subscriber that
you have on your list. No, you didn't mis-read that, it
said Every Month! If you have a list of 2000 subscribers,
you should earn roughly $24,000 per year.
Hearing this information, don't go out and buy a list of
subscribers to try to immediately build up your list. The
best list is made up of targeted subscribers. That is,
they are interested in products related to your niche.
When you buy subscribers, most of them will NOT be
targeted to your niche. For this reason, few of them
will be interested in the products that you are
recommending and many of them will quickly unsubscribe
from your list.
You are much better off developing your list the old
fashioned way, by earning them. Develop a good squeeze
page and offer a great incentive. Use a diversified mix
of marketing campaigns and drive people to your squeeze
page. A good offer can convert between 30% and 50% of
your visitors into subscribers. If your conversions are
significantly less than this, examine your squeeze page
and offer. Make some changes to make it a more compelling
offer.
When creating an email campaign, give some thought to the
timing of your offer. Emails that are sent out late Monday
through Thursday get a better response than those sent out
on Friday or over the weekend. It seems that many people
are checking their email at work. Monday seems to be a bad
day because email boxes fill up over the weekend and
causes an overflow on Monday. So, to maximize your email
success, send them out sometime between late Monday
afternoon and Thursday. BY focusing on the timing of your
emails, you can become a much more successful email
marketer.

Traffic exchange Nightmares!
I do not know how many of you use traffic exchanges in
your marketing but be aware that dangers are lurking!
I tried two new exchages this past weekend and ended up
with such a bad virus that I lost my entire hard drive..
I run several anti-virus programs...they caught the virus
but when they delt witht them I lost windows ect..
Everyone please be careful witht the exchanges that
you use, my suggestion is to not use the auto-surf
options that some exchanges have as an option..This
is where my virus came from!
Happy surfing but beware that not all exchages are clean!

I Just Don't Get It!
I must be an idiot because I just do not get it!
I receive hundreds of emails from my subscribers

In fact, you may be losing money. You may be hiring
writers to help you out. Or getting signups from paid
list building services. Even if you have a big list,
if only a very small percentage actually buys from you,
you are still losing profit. Youâ?Tll realize that after
a few months when you see your statistics and sales
figures.
So what could have gone wrong? Why have others succeeded
where you have failed? The most common mistake is to dive
right in. You chose a topic where you think could be quite
popular and would earn you money. This is rarely the case.
Just because you write to people from your list doesnâ?Tt
mean they are going to buy instantly.
For those who have started an opt-in list and have failed,
you can rejuvenate your failed venture. For those who are
starting, here are three quick and easy ways to build a
profitable opt-in list.
1) Get your customers to trust you and your products first.
Just launching your opt-in list would not make you an
expert and a believable seller. Put out many articles
before you start an opt-in list. Write about the topic

your customers, about their wants and needs and target

Friends are always good customers. Put up a link to
your site so that they may be able to see what your
business is all about.
The truth is, the money will only come in when the
consumers and subscribers believe and trust in you.
They want a product or service that could be a good
exchange for their money. People are not going to
buy something out of your recommendation if they
donâ?Tt know you.
2) Find a product or service that people want and need.
Although it may not be your forte, if you provide a
service and product that you have researched and
learned about well, you can carry it on forward.
Invest your time, effort and money that you could
sell as well as the buyers or subscribers of your
opt-in list can use.
While it is true that it is best to sell something
that you have interest in, there are not many people
who have the same interest as you if you decide to
sell something that is not entirely popular or
profitable. Do your research well and you would see
the profits come in. Also provide your subscribers
with promotional material that they could actually
use and spread around.
3) Make friends with other opt-in list users. This is
basically beneficial especially if it is someone who
has already launched a successful opt-in list. These
are people that have the experience in this venture
and experience is still the best teacher. While there
are many articles available for you in the internet
to use, there is nothing like getting a first hand
account from someone you trust.
Experienced opt-in list users will be able to tell you
what to do and what not to do because they have gone
through it. While different situations occur for
different people, the general concept can still be
very helpful. There are many things to avoid and
these people will be able to tell you which ones.
Building a profitable opt-in list will not just happen
overnight. There are many preparations and efforts going
into this undertaking. Opt-in lists are built from scratch,
as your list grows, you should also maintain the quality
of your list. Keep it organized and manageable. Get or
hire help if need be, just make sure that your subscribers
are happy and satisfied and they will be willing to buy
from you.

if only a very small percentage actually buys from you,
you are still losing profit. Youâ?Tll realize that after
a few months when you see your statistics and sales
figures.
So what could have gone wrong? Why have others succeeded
where you have failed? The most common mistake is to dive
right in. You chose a topic where you think could be quite
popular and would earn you money. This is rarely the case.
Just because you write to people from your list doesnâ?Tt
mean they are going to buy instantly.
For those who have started an opt-in list and have failed,
you can rejuvenate your failed venture. For those who are
starting, here are three quick and easy ways to build a
profitable opt-in list.
1) Get your customers to trust you and your products first.
Just launching your opt-in list would not make you an
expert and a believable seller. Put out many articles

your customers, about their wants and needs and target

Friends are always good customers. Put up a link to
your site so that they may be able to see what your
business is all about.
The truth is, the money will only come in when the
consumers and subscribers believe and trust in you.
They want a product or service that could be a good
exchange for their money. People are not going to
buy something out of your recommendation if they
donâ?Tt know you.
2) Find a product or service that people want and need.
Although it may not be your forte, if you provide a
service and product that you have researched and
learned about well, you can carry it on forward.
Invest your time, effort and money that you could
sell as well as the buyers or subscribers of your
opt-in list can use.
While it is true that it is best to sell something
that you have interest in, there are not many people
who have the same interest as you if you decide to
sell something that is not entirely popular or
profitable. Do your research well and you would see
the profits come in. Also provide your subscribers
with promotional material that they could actually
use and spread around.
3) Make friends with other opt-in list users. This is
basically beneficial especially if it is someone who
has already launched a successful opt-in list. These
are people that have the experience in this venture
and experience is still the best teacher. While there
are many articles available for you in the internet
to use, there is nothing like getting a first hand
account from someone you trust.
Experienced opt-in list users will be able to tell you
what to do and what not to do because they have gone
through it. While different situations occur for
different people, the general concept can still be
very helpful. There are many things to avoid and
these people will be able to tell you which ones.
Building a profitable opt-in list will not just happen
overnight. There are many preparations and efforts going
into this undertaking. Opt-in lists are built from scratch,
as your list grows, you should also maintain the quality
of your list. Keep it organized and manageable. Get or
hire help if need be, just make sure that your subscribers
are happy and satisfied and they will be willing to buy
